Graphics

An intro as epic as the storyline opens this adventure, completed in cartoonish fashion but borrowing from Indiana Jones to transport us on the next plane to Cairo. Benjamin, it seems, has stumbled across the solution to the biggest mystery of all time. That mystery lies inside one of the ancient pyramids - which forms the backdrop behind our reel case and we attempt to unlock them via four rows of symbols across five reels. These symbols appear as blocks stacked on top of each other, and though they fall and land stacked they don’t disappear in an avalanche or exploding symbol fashion.

Instead, the characters of our tale - Professor Taylor, Benjamin, a Camel and the Sphinx - make up our high-payers while hieroglyphical 10s through Aces form our lower paying symbols. Launching the bonus games sees more superbly crafted animations that add to the adventure and ramp up the atmosphere nicely.


Gameplay

ELK slots’ game spaces are known for being immersive. Hidden follows suit, with our five reels filling our screens impressively. Fitting, given the scale of the importance of this adventure. Hitting the Spin button on the bottom right of our reels sees us launch this game’s spins. Landing the Wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols to complete winning combinations, but the randomly-triggered Flashback

Re-spins brings the sky to life. We find a map of ancient Egypt on the reels, and Sticky Wilds cover the first three reels for three free spins in a neat devising of a random feature. But it is in the Treasure Room Free Spins that we will find the true treasure form this game. Verdict

The Egyptian theme is tried and tested, with plenty of other slots developers taking on the theme. ELK puts in a decent turn with its Hidden slot, making the most of the adventurous theme and delivering a superb bonus feature with the Treasure Room Free Spins.

Five free spins doesn’t sound too promising, but the expanding symbol and the chance to land extra spins means it can be as bountiful as we would hope from a treasure haul from the pyramids.
