The first thing we notice about Kingdom of Cash is that the reel case doesn’t take up the entire screen. Which is good as it means we get to take in the views of a peaceful village, with mountains in the distance and castles on the horizon.

Set firmly in the centre of the screen, all the symbols cases are a glossy, granite grey colour, accentuating the notion that we’re in the Middle Ages. To brighten up all the granite, each symbol brings its own colour into the fray.

The lower paying card values, 10 to Ace are coloured blue, purple, green and red, contrasting nicely to the character symbols and the Red and Blue Gems. Speaking of characters, we see a Wizard, a Knight, an Orc and the King and Princess.

The characters look like ones we’d select from an RPG game, each with its own little extra – for example the Knight has a bloodied sword while the Wizard is smoking a pipe. With a jaunty tune in the background, we’re all ready to see what’s going to befall this village.

Gameplay

As we spin the reels, we wait to see which of the champions will appear. Why are they champions? Because of the innovative Combat Feature which is triggered when the King Scatter appears three times or more on the reels.

This takes us to a bonus round where we get to pick a battle. Can the Knight defeat the Wizard? We place our bets, let the battle unfold and hopefully bask in the riches of this royal duel. There are four possible fights but losing one ends this round and returns to the base game.

The King isn’t the only one who wields power as the Princess triggers Free Spins when she appears three, four or five times anywhere.

Not only is the Princess Wild, helping to create winning combinations, but she gives us 15, 20 or 25 extra spins when she does grace us with her appearance. The Free Spins can be retriggered and as the royals are in a good mood, our wins also receive a x3 Multiplier!

Verdict

If Kingdom of Cash existed in the real world, no doubt it’d be full of holiday makers by now. This slot offers tranquillity at first, with a mixture of fun and eccentric characters appearing on the reels.
