We’re introduced to some crazy cartoon characters right from the off as the Monster Madness slot fires up. As the game loads, we see a fun animation showing us the cast and crew, including the slot mascot – a blue, two-headed monster in a yellow jumper - seemingly on the urn from the law.

Once we get into the slots play, the graphics really come into their own. In the background we see a futuristic landscape, with flying monorail cars zipping by. Front and centre, we have the three reels and eight paylines to the left of the screen and to the right is our cheery little mascot. The blue monster looks up at the reel case and as the reels spin, it gets more and more excited, jumping up and down, fists clenched, celebrating when we land a win.

Or maybe it’s just excited to see its monster friends, including the Three Eyed Orange Fang Monster, Purple Blob and One Eyed Blue Thing. These are the main symbols and names made up entirely by us, but you can just picture them perfectly, can’t you?

Gameplay

With betting options easily accessible at the bottom and an autoplay that lets us select an amount up to 100, or to keep on rolling automatically it’s easy to get underway on Monster Madness.

The slot’s Wild is a Blue Target, used to help us aim for those wins but it’s the Green Eyed Scatter symbol we want to look out for. When this appears three times or more, we enter the Free Spins round and rather than just giving us free spins, this slot switches things up. Literally. Our blue mascot runs off the screen while the three by three reel grid shifts over to the newly occupied space.

The Green Eyed Scatter symbol now becomes our Free Spins mascot on the left of the screen. As we go through our five Free Spins, we also can use the Scatter Wilds to double our payouts or award us with an extra spin. It’s madness we tell you!

Verdict

As far as monster-themed slots go, Monster Madness is sitting pretty high up on the list. Sure, it may not have as many reels or paylines as its counterparts.

But it more than makes up for that with its eccentric characters and fun gameplay that continuously leaves us entertained. And with the chance to win up to 30 times our bet on each free spin, the wins ain’t half bad either.
