Reactoonz is a fun name so you can expect fun gameplay and graphics - this is a casual game that definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously. The Toonz in question are brightly coloured aliens that take their places in the 7x7 game grid. It’s a similar set-up to NetEnt’s Cash Noire slot, but on the opposite end of the serious spectrum.

The happy little aliens come in various shapes and colours and pop in vibrant explosions when they complete winning clusters, while four grouped together clump together to form Giantoonz. If these Giantoonz form winning clusters they multiply the winnings x2. Different one-eyed symbols - the lowest payers - are surrounded by an ethereal glow on each spin, which signifies the Fluctuation feature.

The Gigantoon to the right of the game grid - the only three eyed beast in this party - looks smug, and so it should as it sends bolts of game-changing energy onto the reels. On any non-winning spin the Gigantoon can remind us it’s there by activating the Instability feature, which drops 4-8 Wilds randomly onto the grid.

Gameplay

The gameplay comes thick and fast with Reactoonz, or at least as thick and fast as you want it to. You, after all, are in charge of the spinning and bet levels. But when you play online scratchcards and casual games you not only want quick action, but you also want bonus potential. And so it is to the Fluctuation feature.

The glowing symbols leave behind two Wild symbols in their places when they complete winning combos and pop off to wherever it is these beasts go when they disappear. Another dimension, maybe. These Wild symbols complete further winning combos, and the more winning combos you land advances you towards activating the Quantum Leap feature, an energy meter above the Gargantoon. Each win tops up the meter, with 25 symbols collected required to fill up one space in the bar.

This could be one massive cluster that fills the game board (yes please!) or several smaller clusters. When each bar of the Quantum Leap fills, the Gigantoon sends one of four Quantum features onto the board:

● Implosion - transforms 3 -6 symbols into Wild symbols and destroys adjacent symbols.
● Incision - sends a wIld symbol into the centre, which sends two intersecting diagonal lines across the grid which transform into matching symbols.
● Demolition - destroys all one-eyed symbols and all matching symbols.
● Alteration - Selects a one-eyed symbol to transform into another symbol.

If the Quantum Leap reaches the Gargantoon it appears on the reels as a giant 3x3 Wild, before splitting into two 2x2 Wilds after the first cascade then nine individual Wilds after the second. Epic!

Verdict

If you want fun and fast gameplay then Reactoonz hits the spot. The only negative is the low-paying nature of the one-eyed symbols - you need a cluster of 10 to bag x1 your stake. But the concept of Cluster Pays games is that you earn increasing numbers of consecutive cascades, so the small wins add up.

The key to the big wins, though, comes by filling up the Quantum Leap meter. Find your way to the Gargantoon and he rewards you - and the little Reactoonz - handsomely.
