Once we’ve headed to the table, we realise just how great 3D Blackjack is compared to its 2D counterpart. Honestly, it might be difficult heading back to the fuzzy green colour of other games after a few hands on this.

Set on a curved table, with a lush green felt, we see the dealer’s chips at the top, cards to the right and then all the rest of the space belongs to us.

Chips at the bottom of the screen are for us to place our bet and we can place up to three, clearly signed on the table. We also see the basic rules of Blackjack subtly embossed onto the felt, such as “Dealer must stand on 17 and draw to 16.” The cards come flying out from the deck onto their position on the table and, after a win, we see our chips stacked up and brought back down to our account.

Gameplay

Like most versions of Blackjack, the aim of the game is to get to 21 without going bust. And to beat the dealer along the way. Iron Dog Studio give us a wide betting range, from 0.5 to 500, which can be chosen by selecting the right chips.

Once we’ve made our selection, we simply click (or tap the screen) on the place bet circle. On 3D Blackjack, we can play multihand in up to three positions, further increasing our winning chances.

And if we ever need some assistance on how to play, the hamburger menu icon at the top right tells us all we need to know, including the rules, paytable and a bet history. Next to the chips are the Rebet and Rebet 2x buttons which let us play our previous hand (up to twice the amount). After we’ve had our cards dealt, we don’t have to rely on our maths brains to count as whatever cards we get, we see the total pop up in a handy small black box on top.

Verdict

With many Blackjack games to choose from, why settle for 3D Blackjack? First up, it’s got amazing graphics and the way the cards and chips move across the screen is seamless.

It’s perfect for casual gaming or gaming on the go. It’s also great for those of us who don’t want a Live Dealer experience but want to go as realistic as possible. And when we can place up to three bets and win decent amounts, it’s as realistic as Blackjack gets.
